Well she’s at it again. This time, Elaine seems to be taking from the hands that feed her…literally.

Farmworkers who cultivate and harvest our nation’s food supply are the latest victims of Elaine’s assault on decent wages and job security. In Elaine’s effort to change the current guest worker program, her policy could have some drastic effects:

1. Lessening the requirements making employers prove they’ve repeatedly tried to hire Americans before seeking foreign workers.
2. Failing to require employers to pay farmworkers the minimum wage, potentially subjecting them to lower wages.
3. Subjecting farmworkers to the mercy of their employers, opening them up to possible abuse and mistreatment.

Elaine’s proposed changes simply make it easier for employers to skirt the law and profit at others’ expense, nickel and diming farmworkers in the process.
